- All Girls Want Bad Boys: Fez has checked out a member of an international criminal organisation and a local gang leader. And has some tension with Diluc, the moodiest guy in the world.
- Belated Love Epiphany: When Tartaglia stays inside the Mystic Onmyou Chamber for a week by choice, Fez begrudgingly comes to accept that she's fond of him and doesn't want to break up their partnership.
- Benevolent Boss: Tartaglia is this to Fez, a Harbinger she comes to realise isn't going to treat her cruelly. Compared to the other Harbingers she's had contact with, it's a welcome relief.
- Childhood Friends: Fez and Diluc are this, having not seen each other for many years since. They remained pen pals for a while. Meeting again forces them to examine the odd direction their lives have gone.
Diluc: That’s not the kind of person I remember saving me those strawberries, or– or when we spent half the night not sleeping and going over what we’d want our Visions to be so we could help people--
Fez: You remember that? - Consummate Liar: Fez is constantly lying, often defensively. She lied to Tartaglia about having a Vision, to Diluc about being forced into the Fatui, and seems to construct stories for amusement sometimes, such as pretending to be engaged to Tartaglia to a waitress at their first inn stop to disengage her interest in him. Inverted when she actually tells Itto the truth and he refuses to believe her.
- Distracted By The Sexy: When she finds Tartaglia training shirtless on their first morning, Fez is so distracted by his body covered in scars that she doesn't hear a word he's saying and he has to repeat himself.
- Funny Background Event: Shinobu gets to have a private word with Fez while Itto and his gang chase a dog around behind them.
- It Doesn't Mean Anything: There's no change in how Tartaglia treats Fez after they have an Only One Bed escapade - which starts annoying her, as she can't figure out why he would act like nothing happened.
- Love Bubbles: For some reason, when Tartaglia and Fez fell asleep in close proximity in chapters 2 and 4, the air filled with bubbles.
- Opposites Attract: Tartaglia is tall, toned, cheerful, impulsive, a little oblivious, and has orange hair. Fez is short, plump, guarded, cautious, prone to manipulating, and has purple hair.
- Peerless Love Interest: Lumine is this to Tartaglia, who describes her like a force of nature he'll never be able to really measure up to.
- Pick Up Babes With Babes: Arataki Itto tries to play off his inability to win games against children as him just being good with kids.
- Playing The Victim Card: When Diluc expresses disappointment at her life choices, Fez claims she was a victim and given no choice but to join the Fatui. She quickly walks it back, however.
- Powerful People Are Subs: When sharing a bed causes a problem for one of the most powerful men in the world, he refuses to do anything about it until Fez acts first.
- Punch Clock Villain: Fez is just here to do her job. She gets given the day off to enjoy a local festival and forget about being Fatui.
- Rescue Romance: The story opens with Tartaglia wounded and unable to crawl out of the workshop where he used his Foul Legacy transformation, knowing he'll miss saying goodbye to his little brother if he can't get back to Liyue. Fez arrives to pull him up, guide him back to daylight, and eventually literally carry him the last few steps to the city. It doesn't directly start a romance, but it sets a tone for how they initially see each other.
- Romantic Wingman: Venti gleefully calls Diluc this when he directs Fez to her boss's location instead of pursuing her.
Venti: Y’know, if we asked all Mondstadt who they thought was Least Likely To Be A Fatui Wingman’--
Diluc: Charles? Large grape juice, please. - Summon Magic: At first, Fez doesn't know how to do anything with her Vision but create a little energy mote. Instruction from Albedo reveals its finished form to be an anemo crystalfly.
- There Is Only One Bed: Invoked when the two reach Mondstadt and the Goth Grand Hotel is almost full. Fez is understandably nervous about sharing a bed with a Fatui Harbinger she barely knows. Tartaglia doesn't trust anybody enough to be unconscious around them. They share the bed anyway.
- Villainous Crush: Tartaglia, one of the leaders of the villain organisation, has a thing for Lumine, the hero of the game.
- You Wouldn't Hit A Guy With Glasses: Lumine would have no qualms about pummelling someone in a Fatui uniform. Fez tries to wheedle out of it by pointing out she doesn't even have a weapon.
Fez: You wouldn’t hurt someone unarmed, would you?
Paimon: You mean you’re out here with no way to defend yourself??
Fanfic / Innamorati
“A Fatui initiate from Fontaine. Cowed and polite. I believed most of your number were Snezhnayan-born; drawn in through national pride or personal superiority. You’re neither. So assuage my curiosity– Fez, was it? …What’s keeping you there?”
- Shikanoin Heizou
Innamorati is an ongoing Genshin Impact fanfic written by pyreo. It features the author's own character on a canon-compliant side-adventure with the Fatui Harbinger Tartaglia, following the game's plot from a different perspective.
Each chapter tends to involve the original character, Fez, meeting a Canon Character Of The Week, and having a little adventure en route to what Tartaglia was ordered to do at the time.
While not listed as explicit, readers should know it contains scenes of tasteful intimate behaviour.
